ABOUT THE YLS
The Young Lawyers of Serbia Association (YLS) is non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization. It was founded on April 16 th 2002 by the judge assistants of Belgrade courts.
The aim of organization is education and experience exchange between the young lawyers, promotion of Rule of Law and engagement in issues of interest for future decision makers.
The Association was founded upon the main ideal of development of democracy, and also of legal and civil country, according to experiences and technical solutions of European Union.
The head office is in Belgrade. There are branches of the YLS in Novi Sad, Kraljevo, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Nis, Pancevo, Novi Pazar and Kragujevac.
The YLS’ members are young lawyers employed in courts, the Bar, international organizations, universities, economy and non-governmental sectors, local self-government, etc.
At the moment, the YLS numbers more than 700 members, with tendency of continual growth.
In official correspondence The YLS communicates with partners from abroad using the name of “Future Decision Makers”.
The Association is administered by the Managing Board, which consists of the President, Executive Director and five vice- presidents, each of which is at the head of a committee (Project Committee, Financial Committee, Committee for Branches, Public Relation and Marketing Committee and Committee for relation with international organizations, non-governmental organizations and other institutions). The committees deal with issues of strategic importance for the Association’s proper functioning.
In April 2005 the YLS has become a member of European Young Bar Association. |
